Enduring Power of Attorney

Powers of Attorney are those documents that allow other people to make decisions for you in relation to either health matters or financial matters.  An Enduring Power of Attorney is a Power of Attorney that continues after you become incapacitated and can no longer make decisions for yourself.

Power of Attorneys provide someone with the ability to make Financial decisions for a set period of time, or after you lose capacity.

Alternatively you can create a Power of Attorney that permits a person to make personal health decisions on your behalf.  This ability can only be activated after you lose capacity.

Power of Attorneys are highly recommended in circumstances where someone has separated and is currently going through Property settlement matters, if a person is going overseas and requires documents or financial matters attended to in your absence, or if a person is undergoing surgery and wants to ensure their affairs are put into place.

Powers of Attorney can provide for the following:

Powers of Attorney cannot specifically order the termination of life support or Do not resuscitate directions.  For this to occur you would be required to complete an Advanced Health Directive. Please contact our office if you require assistance with Advanced Health Directives or Enduring Power of Attorneys.
